Services for families with children under 5 are based at HNCC's very own FAMILY CENTRE, which provides families with morning and afternoon activities and support. Excellent facilities both indoor & outdoor provide parent/guardian/carers with a varied programme including:-

PLAYGROUP – Tadpole's is a 5 morning a week nursery where you can leave your children (over 2 1/2 years) & where they can gain invaluable preschool experience of play & working together.

BABY BOOST – is HNCC’s service for expectant or new mothers/carers with babies aged 0-18 months. This programme is organised & funded by E.Y.I.S.(formerly Sure Start)and classes vary from being drop-in to advance booking but are all FREE! For more information/to book, contact Amanda Dyal on

Baby Boost drop in – is our twice weekly “get together” including breastfeeding support, specialist advice & a baby version of Mabel’s Monster Music. Also available during the Thursday sessions by advance booking & at low cost is the mummy mini massage.

DEVELOPING DAYS – is HNCC’s service for children under 5.This extensive programme whereby there is a theme for each day is organised & funded by Early Years Intergrated Services(formerly Sure Start) and classes vary from being drop-in to advance booking & other than (Gymnastics for 4-5 year olds) are FREE! STORY DAY: Our drop-in story afternoon is full of fun stories, songs, drama & puppets. Story afternoon (for 0-5 years)

Mondays 1.30-3.00pm

MOVEMENT DAY: Our advance booked Gymbabes & Gymsters sessions allow your child to have fun whilst learning and developing their physical skills. Our drop-in Dance & Drum session allows your child to have fun during their creative dance & music session in a more organic way.

Tuesdays 1.30-3.00pm

ENERGY DAY: Come along to our drop-in session where your child can come and play and burn off all that energy. Physical fun afternoon(for 0-5yrs).

Wednesdays 1.30-3.00pm

MUSIC DAY –  Come and join our drop-in session whereby there is fun and music with“Mabels Monster". Let your little one enjoy learning whilst joining in this magical afternoon.

GLOBAL ART PROJECT -  (for 0-5 years).  

DIY PLAY CAFE: Come & join HNCC's FREE project designed to offer children from 4-14 the opportunity to get involved in cooking & healthy eating/living. HOLIDAY PLAYSCHEMES

Our holiday play-scheme’s run throughout all the school holidays (except Christmas). We offer children stimulating, creative & fun activities where they can play with friends & make new ones in a safe & comfortable environment.
